Hour of Code

This week students in grades Kindergarten through 6 participated in the global event know as The Hour of Code. This historic event continues to reach tens of millions of students each year as it aims to raise a critical awareness of the need for computer science in our classrooms. By participating in The Hour of Code students overcome obstacles, break beyond stereotypes, and take control of their learning.

Computer Science is shifting what we know and how we approach so much of our lives. All students should have the opportunity to learn how to harness this power and be able to help change their world by creating technology.

And it doesn't need to stop after an hour. At Waitsfield students will continue to hone their computer science and problem solving skills as part of various Project Lead the Way units in Computer Science. And at home you can help your child explore more at Hour of Code website.
