I am thrilled to be starting my second year at Waitsfield Elementary. Last year was such an amazing first year for me that I can only imagine how good this year is going to be. Sharing the love of reading will continue to be a huge part of our time together, but this year I hope to do a lot more writing and creating together so we can really get the word out about how amazing we are.
I had a huge reading summer. between new books, the DCF and Red Clover Lists, and a daughter who is learning how to read Frog and Toad and Mercy Watson books. I have been surrounded by a summer of sunshine and books. I can’t wait to hear what great adventures you had whether it involved camp or creemees, or the beach, or a book.
One fun book I read this summer is Shaun Tan's Rules of Summer. It is an imaginative look at what adventures summer can bring. My favorite rule: "Always know the way home." What was your rule of summer? What will your rule for the school year be?
