Horten's Miraculous Mechanisms: Magic, Mystery, & a Very Strange Adventure written by Lissa Evans is a great read if you like to solve puzzles, secret codes, and mysterious clues. After Stuart Horten moves to a new town, he finds himself swept up in the search for his long-lost great uncle, an inventor and magician with a magical workshop. The adventure starts when Stuart receives a phone call from a broken telephone booth. Unlocking the secret messages leads Stuart around the town of Beeton, each step bringing him closer to discovering the truth behind his great uncle’s disappearance. As if solving the puzzles were not enough, Stuart is also confronted with the pesky neighborhood triplets and a greedy villain watching his every move. Fans of this book should stay tuned for the sequel: Horten’s Incredible Illusions: Magic, Mystery, & Another Strange Adventure.
